H2L, a company engaged in research and business development of “BodySharing®—a next-generation sensory sharing technology,” secures funding from Toyota Boshoku

About

Partner
Toyota Boshoku Corporation

H2L Inc. (hereinafter “H2L”), a company aiming to enable shared experiences with others through the transmission of proprioception, has announced a funding round led by Toyota Boshoku Corporation (hereinafter “Toyota Boshoku”) as the lead investor*1.

Implementation

H2L is conducting research and business development on “BodySharing®️※2,” a “next-generation sensory sharing technology” that follows on from audiovisual technology. The company specializes in technology that detects proprioception※3 from muscle expansion, as well as technology that transmits proprioceptive sensations by applying multi-electrode electrical stimulation to the arm. Through these two technologies, the company aims to enable the mutual sharing of proprioception with robots, virtual avatars, and other people, thereby providing shared experiences and lifestyles that transcend location, time, space, the physical body, and consciousness. Currently, the company is developing business applications in fields such as remote work, agriculture, and sports using these technologies, and aims to expand their application to a wide range of fields in the future.

Toyota Boshoku is an automotive parts manufacturer dedicated to “providing a ‘high-quality space-time’ for all forms of mobility.” As autonomous driving technology evolves and the way people spend time in vehicle interiors changes, the company aims to create new value in mobility spaces as an interior space creator.

With this funding, H2L will collaborate with Toyota Boshoku to create more comfortable vehicle interiors through the transmission of proprioception.
