BodySharing®
—Technology for Sharing Experiences
BodySharing® is a technological concept and interface that enables people and robots, as well as people and other people, to share their experiences by mutually transmitting physical information between humans and computers.
Rather than simply transmitting video or audio, it conveys physical sensations such as hand movements, the feel of touch, and the application of force, creating an experience that feels as if you are “right there” or “becoming that person.”
This technology enables users to perform precise tasks from remote locations, learn the skills of experts through physical experience, and enjoy new experiences that transcend physical limitations.
H2L has moved beyond research and development of this technology and is currently in the phase of social implementation and business expansion. Through partnerships with companies and research institutions, we are advancing initiatives to transform experience sharing into tangible value.
H2L's Technical Strengths
Proprioceptive Input and Output: A Unique Technological Domain
As the third medium following video and audio, H2L has pioneered the digitization of proprioceptive senses—such as positional awareness, resistance, weight, and movement—ahead of the rest of the world. This makes it possible to share the “active experience itself”, something that could not be conveyed until now.
Optical Muscle Deformation Sensor for Use in Everyday Environments
H2L’s proprietary optical muscle deformation sensor is resistant to sweat and electronic noise, and is designed for continuous use in everyday life. Its practicality and durability, which extend beyond research applications, support its implementation in society.
In-House End-to-End Process from Sensing to Analysis
We have an in-house, integrated technology stack that spans everything from body data acquisition (sensing) and AI analysis to proprioceptive feedback (electrical stimulation). H2L’s technical strength lies in our ability to provide hardware, software, and services as a unified solution.
Interdisciplinary Technological Foundation
By integrating insights from a wide range of academic fields—including information science, physiology, cognitive psychology, and complex systems engineering (AI)—we are constantly developing new technologies. It is not technology derived from a single discipline, but rather a research foundation rooted in the essence of the human body and senses that underpins the uniqueness of BodySharing®.
What BodySharing® Can Do
H2L offers products and services that provide comprehensive support for sharing experiences, from the collection of physical data to its utilization within organizations.
The Distribution of Experiences Enabled by BodySharing®
Sensors record body movements and the amount of force applied.
We visualize the collected physical data and store it within the group.
We deliver our accumulated experience data to people, characters, and robots.
Visualizing Team Dynamics in the Workplace
We help resolve “misunderstandings regarding work styles” that arise in various workplaces and support improved team productivity.
With the Metaverse Office BodySharing® for Business, members in remote locations can share their work experiences through avatars, allowing them to gain a firsthand understanding of the actual nature and workload of tasks. The system can be operated within an organization with viewing permissions set for specific factories, facilities, or departments.
Skill Transmission
Recording the skills of experts—which cannot be conveyed through words alone—as physical data and passing them on to the next generation. By utilizing Maaart, organizations can digitize the movements and sensory experiences of experienced practitioners in fields such as sports, manufacturing, agriculture, and traditional crafts, and share this data across organizational boundaries. Simply capture muscle deformation data using the dedicated app “Maaart -BodySharing Analysis-” and upload it to the platform to share it with members in remote locations. This allows organizations to preserve skills and sensory knowledge—which were previously tied to specific individuals—as digital assets.
MaaartProviding Human Experiences for Robots
Instead of relying on simulations, we build physical AI based on real human body data. Through the Capsule Interface, we collect data on everyday movements and proprioception, which we then provide as the “training data” necessary for the autonomous control of robots and avatars. By leveraging human data, we enable the development of physical AI with high precision and at low cost.
